Holiday Inn Hotel, Heathrow, Front of House
Studio Mica was the client’s concept and interior designers for the FOH areas to a new build IHG 433 key hotel at Heathrow for Holiday Inn which launched in 2019.
The building encloses a 6 storey atrium creating a soaring space at the heart of this new urban metropolis. The atrium includes a showcase theatre kitchen, restaurant and long bar. The Holiday Inn open lobby concept is supported by separate work-play areas providing meeting rooms, gym, garden terraces, games and media lounges.
In a homage to the Memphis heritage of the Holiday Inn brand, Studio Mica have designed a contemporary FOH environment with the emphasis on functionality and comfort as well as creating a new clearly identifiable brand aesthetic.
“The design team made a few bold moves to keep a consistent colour backdrop, first defined by funky green column’s marching around the perimeter of the atrium.....the bar continues the green colours but adds an illuminated copper back-drop made from a mosaic of 85 kilos of American dimes”

“......the 25m long continuous bar curves around smaller more intimate lounges and terminates in the round cocktail station”
